We took a few eggs from Uncle Levi's chicken coop.  We knew they were fertile since he had a rooster.  Our little bantam hen was "setting" so we thought she could hatch some.  Yup.  She took right over with her adoptive eggs and sat on them until they hatched.  Only two of the 5 ended up hatching and now they are grown into white chickens who lay brown eggs and they are bigger than their Mama.
